The Best Off Season: Mulligan Edition

Filed under: NFL — Drew @ 12:02 am

Well, I had no idea that the draft would have such a huge impact on this upcoming season. Boy, was I wrong. As you have heard, the New England Patriots traded a 4th round pick for Randy Moss. Didn’t Bill Belichick get the memo? You can’t buy a Super Bowl in the NFL. Is that how the saying goes? Well, that may be true, but New England is doing everything possible to put that to rest. How does a team that has been so frugal end up making the biggest splash in the off season? You would think it has been decades since their last Championship. LOL.

This has definitely ruffled the feathers of the Colts and any thoughts for a repeat title. If the new Patriot WRs stay healthy, they should be able to score with the best of them. It will be interesting to see how well Brady performs with actually receivers and not a bunch of mediocre TEs and some second rate wideouts. I would not be surprised if by midseason the trio of Moss, Stallworth and Welker are the best in the league. Of course, I think my trio in Detroit will make a splash as well, Williams, Johnson and Furrey.

One last note. There’s already enough pressure trying to make the team as an unknown rookie, but just think about the pressure on cornerback John Bowie from Cincinatti. He will always be known as the player that was traded for one of the best WRs in the league. Good Luck, Son.
