NFL Player Conduct Suspensions

Packman Jones Chris Henry

As you have heard, Tennessee Titan’s Cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones and Cincinnati Bengals Wideout Chris Henry, were suspended due to several off the field issues. Jones is suspended the entire ‘07 - ‘08 Season and Henry for the first 8 games of the season.

When Roger Goodell first replaced Paul Tagliabue as NFL Commish, I immediately thought he could never come close to filling Tag’s shoes. Boy was I wrong. Goodell’s hardnose stance on player misconduct is a major milestone in the landscape of major US sports. This is a message that may be heard within the NBA and possibly MLB. Holding these athletes accountable for their actions is very crucial to maintaining the quality of the league. And being that the NFL is #1 among the major US sports leagues, I am glad to see Roger Goodell working to keep the NFL’s top ranking.
